The National Committee meets several times a year either through face-to-face contact at the Tabernacle Street office in London, or via conference calls. We also meet annually at Parcevall Hall in Yorkshire where the outcomes from the previous year's workstreams are discussed as well as discussing possibilities for future workstreams.
The discussions of the national committee can be followed through your emails from the geographical group liaison Cerys Macgillivray or you can read the minutes from the Parcevall Hall meetings.
Over the past two years, the committe and other members have formed reference groups to work in the areas of older access to primary care mental health, and dementia. While the focus of the former workstream has been on IAPT services which are not common across the devolved nations, our discussions at committee have reflected the similarities and differences of the IAPT servie and we have agreed that there is considerable cross-over in the areas we have been discussing. We have agreed that this workstream is now complete. We are continuing to work on issues relevant to dementia, are active through the reference group in attending various dementia-related national events and are a part of the Dementia Action Alliance.
We are currently considering other ideas for workstreams in the future. Please let us know your suggestions with as much detail as possible.
