Publications

The FPOP Bulletin in July 2018 was a North Thames Geographical Group (GG) special edition.

Extract from Sarah Johnson's Guest Letter:

"We have been fortunate to receive some fantastic articles from North and South Thames clinicians. Thank you to all of our authors, who responded quickly to tight deadlines. Thank you as well to our members and committee colleagues who supported this process by liaising with authors and reviewing articles, and to the Bulletin editors Katharina Reichelt and Claire Appleton for all their help and guidance. The articles cover a range of therapeutic approaches and issues affecting older people. Michelle Hamill and Ellen Khan describe the use of CAT for psychological distress in later life related to earlier experiences of trauma. Sarah Illsley and colleagues present their replication study of a service evaluation of relaxation groups on inpatient wards. Michelle Hamill et al. discuss their service evaluation of ‘memory and wellbeing’ groups for people with mild cognitive impairment. In the article by Reinhard Guss and colleagues, two service users’ describe their experience of behavioural variant frontotemporal dementia and share their reflections on diagnostic criteria. Michelle Hamill and Martina McCarthy describe their evaluation of an integrative group intervention for carers of people with dementia. Another evaluation of an intervention for carers of people with dementia is provided by Claire Franklin and Ruth Lukeman, who detail their experience of the START (Strategies for Relatives) intervention for carers of people with dementia."
