Welcome to PSIGEPSIGE provides a forum for Psychologists with an interest in work with older people. Established in 1980, PSIGE is the Faculty for Old Age Psychology (British Psychological Society, Division of Clinical Psychology). It works to encourage the exchange of information, ideas and expertise about psychological approaches with older people. It is a national group with members throughout the UK. Although primarily for Psychologists, membership is open to individuals from other disciplines and voluntary groups who share an interest in work with older people. The PSIGE National Conference 2012 will be hosted by the South West Geographical Group in Bristol on 14th and 15th June 2012. PSIGE Special Edition Newsletter: IAPT and Older PeopleWe are delighted to make available as a pdf this special edition of the PSIGE Newsletter draws together 16 articles which provide a variety of perspectives on this topical issue. The Newsletter is a culmination of the last 12 months of national events gathering the best practice in the country. IAPT is one of two strategic streams of work PSIGE will be taking further this year under the leadership of Julia Boot and Louise Bergin. Although IAPT is a formal programme in England, the relevance of the improving access agenda to the other nations hopefully makes this publication a resource with broad appeal and utility. Please feel free to distribute it widely. We will taking IAPT issues further in 2012 and there will be a workshop on IAPT at the Bristol Conference - see above. With Compliments
