Membership

There are 20 to 30 permanent members in our group, made up of Clinical Psychologists, trainees and assistants. Trainees and Assistant Psychologists attend whilst on placement from the University of College London, University of East London, University of Hertfordshire, Royal Holloway, University of Essex, and when they are working with PSIGE members.

Meetings

We meet every 2 months at venues located in south and south-west Essex, we are currently working on expanding our presence within Hertfordshire and Essex to broaden our membership portfolio and have a wider presence in our region. Meetings tend to comprise of a presentation followed by a business component.

Regional PSIGE meetings in 2010

• 8th February - CMHT for Older People, Goodmayes Hospital, Essex.
• 20th April - Aston Court, Laindon, Essex.
• 9th June - The Derwent Centre, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, Essex.
• 12th August - CMHT for Older People, Goodmayes Hospital, Essex.
• 22nd October - venue to be confirmed
• 6th December - venue to be confirmed

Future Plans

We are developing further roles within our regional PSIGE group to facilitate our activities, such as a Training and Development committee to lead on CPD opportunities.

We are also hoping to expand our presence throughout Essex and Hertfordshire so that we have a broader representation in the region, this will be facilitated by the development of a consultation document in line with the National PSIGE agenda.
